If you're planning to visit Canada, you'll probably want to rent a car. It is not difficult to find rental cars in Canada, but the price of a rental car depends on the time of year. For example, a car rental in April is slightly more expensive than one in October. In order to avoid paying more than you need to, try to book ahead. You can save a lot of money by making a reservation in advance.

To rent a car in Canada, you must be at least 21 years old. Drivers under 21 will have to pay a surcharge. For drivers 25 and over, there is no surcharge. If you're an international driver, your license should be translated to English. A valid international driving permit is recommended, as well. If you're an international driver, you can rent a car in Canada if you're over 21.

A car rental in Canada should come with snow tires, although they are not mandatory. If you're going to drive through winter, you might want to consider renting a 4x4 instead. This will provide better traction on snowy roads, but it won't cost you much more. If you're planning to travel during summer, you can drive a normal sedan anywhere in Canada. You can get a huge truck, though, if you need to travel in the most remote areas.

While the rental in Canada should come with insurance, it is always wise to take out additional insurance coverage. All rentals in Canada should come with third-party liability insurance. Third-party liability insurance pays for damages to other people or property. You may also want to buy collision insurance and theft insurance locally or with a credit card. A rental car should have enough insurance to cover these expenses.

If you do end up in an accident, always make sure to check if anyone is injured, and don't move anyone until they have been cleared by an ambulance.

You should also take into consideration the length of time you plan to drive the car. Ideally, you should rent a car that has unlimited mileage. Otherwise, you might be paying extra for unnecessary miles. You should also consider whether or not the rental has a mileage cap. While some rental companies offer unlimited mileage, others limit this to a certain amount. If you plan on driving for a long time, it is important to ask the rental company for information about the mileage cap. If you go over the mileage limit, you will be charged extra.

While driving in Canada is generally legal, it is also important to have insurance. It is illegal to drive without insurance in Canada. However, most rental companies will provide you with a CDW or personal accident insurance policy. You should also check with your own insurance provider before renting a car. The cost of a CDW insurance is usually lower than the cost of an accident waiver. Once you have the insurance, you'll be ready to drive anywhere in Canada!
